Filament Diameter: 1.75mm +/- 0.05mm
Storage: All Desktop Metal materials come in re-sealable Mylar bags with desiccant. These materials have indefinite shelf life at ambient temperature storage.
Drying: Desktop Metal recommends pre-drying the filament at 75oC for at least 8 hours prior to printing. During printing, the filament can be stored in the filament dryer that comes with the Fiber™ system.
Nylon 6 is a semi-crystalline polyamide thermoplastic that is generally tough, strong, and abrasion and wear resistance. Desktop Metal’s Nylon (PA6) filament is filled with 20%wt high-modulus carbon fiber that when printed on the Fiber™ system produces beautiful parts with excellent surface finish, mechanical properties including high stiffness, at a relatively low cost.
