Tape width: 3.0mm +/- 0.13mm
Tape thickness: 0.14 mm +/- 0.02 mm
Storage: All Desktop Metal materials come in re-sealable Mylar bags with desiccant. These materials have indefinite shelf life at ambient temperature storage.
Drying: Desktop Metal® recommends pre-drying the tape at 75oC for at least 8 hours prior to printing. During printing, the tape is mounted directly onto the μAFP™ tool head, and should be dried again if it has been in ambient conditions for 48 hours.
Desktop Metal’s PEEK + CF tape combines the benefits of PEEK with those of continuous carbon fiber (12k tow, standard modulus, 59-60% fiber volume fraction) to significantly improve the performance of parts 3D printed on the Fiber™ system. The PEEK + CF tape is fully impregnated with low void content (<1%) for robust processing via Fiber’s unique μAFP™ tool head.
